I was contemplating calling Gamigin when she came on her own. I don’t know if I’d seen the female version before. Upper torso is that of a human the rest a human-horse mix.
M: “Thank you for coming.”
G: “Thank you for calling. There are things you’d like to know (about the dead), but I think your time is better spent elsewhere (for this). We will do both.”
(I nodded and sent the intent of an incense offering)
G: ” Stick of something. Yes, Wormwood would be lovely. And something is. You choose.”
I grabbed a stick of Aloeswood and lit both.
In last night’s dream work I had a sort of hive or colony of mosquitoes growing inside my ears. When I dug one out another would reappear. I could feel them in my head, but not moving around inside.
G: “The Dead. You know they’re not all stays with it (the spirit) after death.”
M: “The ego seems to. Almost likes it gets left behind, but not discarded like trash. Some still have connections to the All.”
G: ” Needed they do. Ponder that.”
He indicated we were done. Obviously again appeared as male today but I was just as comfortable with that as the other.
Gamagin indicated I should do the invocation now rather than in a few hours. I had just started folding ingots for my chold’s Yin debt and didn’t really feel like switching gears.
G: “Why don’t you say it?”
M: “Because I asked to work through this (book)”
G: “And yet you won’t say it.”
M: “You’ve gone out of your way to come here and show up for my benefit to help me. That would be a rude and discourteous way to think someone coming to help.”
G: “It would. Write it down. We are done.”
G: “You did good work today.”
M: “Thank you.”
G: “Leads us to the nature of death in our previous conversation. You’re wondering if those without a spark can gain one and continue progressing has half a spirit (because the Higher is gone). You already know the answer. You’ve done it before.”
M: “Not to a human.”
G: “No, not too human, but does it matter? Will they not progress from then on?”
M: “But how without their higher half? Stunted? Will it be recreated? Will it be like starting all over?”
G: “There are some cults and other groups that separate these purposefully and never relink the two or the spirit to a spark (to get a new one). Stunted growth? Possibly likely for personalities that aren’t into learning, but there can be a backlash for both doing it and not. Promises should be kept. This (almost always) results in ego remnants for quite a while afterwards and some (remnants) are not idle or weak. That is all.”
What he’s saying is that there are some remnants that can still have lives that have meaning and that they value. It doesn’t necessarily mean they have the same progression path as a human, but that doesn’t really work for most other spirits that aren’t human. And there are far more non-human spirits than there are human.
There are some people that believe that you can be born as other entity types and I’m not a good judge for that, so I’m not going to touch it here. I have a different beliefs than they probably do about that and it serves no purpose on my end.
What he’s also saying underneath all of this is that there are other progression paths than just the human one. He’s not really saying what those are and why they are and if they rate the same or not. Once you start answering those questions you have a hard time doing so without a dogmatic framework behind it.
G: “When you have a spirit you wish to elevate but not yet give a spark to, you must start building up the energy body.
It is common to use a similar energy to that which the spirit has. Unless it’s a general purpose spirit or a specialist in some area, you will want to gauge the spirit and where progress should happen. A complex spirit should get a say or choice and its future trajectory considered. Depending on how trustworthy it is, you may not want to build it up in an area your weak in or have a weakness for. All spirits are trustworthy until they push the barb in.”
Gamigin held a spirit out towards me close enough I could have touched it. He wanted me to practice. The boy looked around six to eight and was mostly skeletal to my eyes with the head having features (mostly), but largely not the rest. I fed it neutral energy, but tinged it a dull gray, so it would only be a step or two above what I was seeing from him. The tinge was from adding Death essence to it instead of it being the source. I watched as the skin reformed over his body and took form under the clothes he was wearing.
Gamigin indicated I should stop and told me we were finished.
