Responsibility vs Ability – the ever-shifting gauge. But is it true?

Most beginner, intermediate, and even “Adept” magicians with a consistent magical practice usually start asking themselves about what they *can* do vs what they *could* do for situations and causes they believe in. This is a trap of sorts…but really, it’s more of a test. It’s a test of both belief in ability, in the very existence of Magic(k) and a test of whether the practitioner is ready and willing to interact with the entire rest of the “Universe” in a way that they are led to.

Notice that I didn’t say anything about World Peace (a lie), Equal Opportunity (another lie), or those being any sort of “birth right” to the average person. Truth is, looking at the animal world, the meek, the modest, the weak, the pretend modest, …don’t fare so well. It really doesn’t matter whatever pretend systems societies put into play to advocate towards these methods. The rewards go elsewhere, unless a token awardee is needed.

I’m not saying that these things aren’t needed. What I’m saying is that humans, STILL ANIMALS, do not reward such things. Which should be a calling card towards avenues to overcome these things. While things like coaching and education are sound and true method that I have also used, it is often wrongfully ASSumed that these qualities are enough. They can be, with the right circumstances. But those aren’t circumstances I was born into. You likely weren’t, either, or you wouldn’t be reading this.

Woah, woah, we’re WAY off-topic, right? No, this is right where we should be. Why? Because changing your LIFE is harder than changing the world in a lot of way. Not when you have a teaspoon of power or even a tea cup. Keep your changes more local or delude yourself into being the next Chosen One and get ignored by those with actual ability when you want help.

These harder, more localized battles are super important – as is helping others. A lot of times, we want to perform acts to help ourselves, are stymied by various reasons (Gods, Goddesses, other practitioners, Life Lessons, etc) and we hit a rut. Work for others to help break free of this and refine your technique while you wait for your opportune moment to enact or see the fruit of your previous workings.

But wait…that has not relation to the title, right? Most people’s petty problems are NOT enough to get them experience at a level where they can interact one ever-increasing stages of complexity. Some novices will cast at world events, see no repercussions (NOT the same as the self-inflicted ‘pushback’) and assume that any event it theirs for the glory. Largely ridiculous to assume full ownership, but those sorts of idiotic and delusional behaviors is what results in those dipshit thinking they could curse the Moon on social media. Delusional, flowery ritual types, all about the show, with little tangible results of increasing complexity.

A.K.A. most Occult practitioners, RHP OR LHP. And they can piss off appropriately if that’s good enough for them. They will likely stay out of the way of actually proficient practitioners. As they should.

They point of this is to point out that one should try to solve increasingly complex problems, not just at the local level, or for those that can’t manage their lives from month-to-month. They seem to enjoy the cycle and where they are.

But don’t be fooled that working at a higher level, especially in ways that are directly effective, won’t have consequences. To use current world events as a backdrop, if you’re competent beyond an Intermediate level and start to notice interreference (at the ground level, not some whimsical emotional level), you may want to study and adjust your workings for less scrutiny. If you don’t want it.

And if you think tossing some sort of consecrated salt is enough, you haven’t hit an actual opponent worth a damn yet.

Most will scurry towards their hidey holes when things get “real” and you’re going against another magician that you can’t simply do some canned banishing ritual against. And those little rabbits should stay in their dens, less the foxes find them.

Or the rabbit can progress until it becomes a fox. Or more.

Once upon a time, I was tagging my posts with #putyourwandwhereyourmouthis in Instagram. Except all of the pretend leaders weren’t doing anything, really. Hiding behind false Modesty and Wisdom because they can’t affect much more than their followers or home life. Wastes of magicians pretending to be leaders.

Don’t be like them. The world needs better. The Occult needs better. And they’ll have to follow the same sort of path – if they ever have the courage to do so.

But what of the ridiculous and misunderstood CONTROL mechanism of “Karma”? When has it really worked out for anyone but abusers and those that enable them, even softly?

Humans ARE still animals, have come from them, and yet we put into place all sorts of spiritual and religious rules that subject the majority. The rest can buy their way out with donations, global projects, and whatever else the religious organizations say is acceptable. Yet, these same organizations are the ones plying the ever non-descript KARMA or similar punishment as a mechanism to keep you from upsetting their system. Every organization seems to have a different one and to pretend that even the Vedas have a non-added on version is a lie.

Spiritual paths tack on bullshit over time. Once the Zoroastrians tacked on a version of Hell into their dogma, the Israelis and Christians followed suit. The Vedas tacked on all sort of pretend “mandatory rules” when you start to look past the modern fluff.

Again, how long will you not tackle genuinely hard problems or small pieces of them due to religious and spiritual bs? Or worse, ignorant fear? The only genuine cure for fear here is experience. Not some Instawitch or Witchtok amateur.

Will you answer the call and actually try to make the world a better place? Or will you simply slink back and relegate yourself to “one that could have”?

And didn’t.

Again.
