I didn’t exactly know where to project to. The scene for the book starts at the gate but I knew I should project near it. I focused on a Anubis and projected.
It look like I was standing behind him and he was standing with a single file line, horizontal, facing the gate. But I couldn’t see the gate. It was invisible. I walked forward and new that if I wanted the gate to appear I would have to continue walking.
When this gate showed up, seemingly instantly, it reminded me more of a large medieval gate than something Egyptian flavored. There was a large snake over top of it that was peering down and looking at me. It seemed judgmental, but not evil or hostile.
The gate open slightly but not fully. I knew I would not be able to fit through the opening. I also knew I should not force the gate open. I simply grabbed it with both of my hands one on each side and gently pushed without force and opened it wide enough for me to move through.
As I walk through the gate, what little scenery I could see on the other side suddenly vanished. It’s simply didn’t exist anymore. It reminded me more of a dust storm and that sort of lack of visibility while also feeling that it just didn’t exist and had to be written.
Stepping my first foot onto the other side, I could feel the gate closing behind me. And that was it. I even turned around and looked at the game and almost wondered why that was it. It seemed like there should just be more to that ceremony than that.
I don’t remember what my first experience was like going through this gate those years ago. I don’t remember if it was difficult or not, if I was challenged or not, or what I felt walking through. I suppose I could try to find it but why? Those were the challenges I faced last time and they may not be the same challenges this time.
