Book of Gates Scene 10

Having dictated Scene9 I was told to return for Scene 10. I honestly wasn’t sure I would pick back up where I left off. It seems like a “hard cut” where the experiences/scenarios are not consecutive or directly related.

Standing at the crossroads. To the front is the continuation of this sort of stone hallway. I don’t know what’s to the right but it’s an open area where one can walk but I’m being directed towards the left.

I take the path to the left as I know I should. I walk out onto a sort of teardrop shaped point of land where I feel like I’m surrounded by the Dead – inside of the Earth. Especially on the shoreline. It’s mostly grass until you get right up to the water.

There’s like a little dock that’s been built that you can walk out on, but this wasn’t visible until I got near the water’s edge. You could walk several feet upon the dock and be both off the land and over the water. This was somehow important, but it wasn’t conveyed to me.

At the end of the dock. I’ve read the description of this liver which is the same as the river Lethe. It doesn’t feel hot but I know if I expect the two it will turn hot in an instant. Instead of I’m just kind of washing my face, washing my hands. I’m letting unnecessary troubles come to the water – it’s pooling on my face. I put my hand to my face and lift off the thin layer of it and put it into the water. Releasing it.

I stand back up and I’m walking down this dock, which is now somehow raised much higher than it was when I walked out onto it. I’m walked down the steps of this dock until I get back on the Path. But the path is now has a wooden, an extenuation of the dock itself until I get back to the stone floor.

And I can see that these wooden planks run underneath this stone floor. I can take a single step to step over it and go out the other side if I want to, but I don’t feel like there’s any reason for me to do so. The right side, from the original crossroad, is just a distraction and I don’t feel like indulging.

I get ready to go down the hallway and continue down it. The hallway is still quite raw and lit by torches.

I am grabbed by Anubis and turn to my left back towards the dock scene where I see some sort of Naga or humanoid water spirits. It is on the water and for some reason noticing me. This is important in the immediate term, but I don’t know how or why. I didn’t notice or feel the spirit when I was anywhere near the dock, meaning it was like separate and using the scenario or I was unobservant of them, which is honestly possible, but more likely the timing mattered for some reason I won’t understand.

I simply nodded. She nodded. And then I was told to go on my way. And Blackness came as soon as I hit the tunnel.

Post experience note – Believe me, I’d rather there be nice, neat boxes and experiences, but this isn’t the case with some experiences. When you’re operating outside any sort of “framework” you’re familiar with, things aren’t nice and neat. While this book is based on the scholarship of experienced magicians, the framework THEY are using is also NOT the same as the Egyptians whose CURRENT we are riding for this.

No shade on the authors, but there are MANY thousands of years between the ‘source’ and contemporary, collective Us. This is the best translation we have, especially with Occult knowledge, but DO NOT confuse that with authority. I certainly don’t and clearly mine isn’t either.

Just something to keep in mind with ancient texts. Regardless of however good a modern translation is.
