Anyone looking at the Occult for a while will know that there are a multitude of opinions on spirits and communications with them. As I’ve worked in several paradigms, I’ve gotten a wide variety of experience with different forms of communication I have with spirits. As I can’t speak for anyone else, let me describe some of mine and how those conversations end up in journals, blog entries, and forums.
First, the most important thing I can say is that I don’t hear exactly what they say – but do get corrected in my interpretations when it matters. How can this be? Let me tell you my theory.
What I “hear” is translated. In my opinion, so is everyone else’s, but I acknowledge that my conversations are “translated”. Why? Because they lack vocal cords and I only have a certain range of experiences and vocabulary to describe it. They do their best to convey what they want me to know in a way I can interpret it.
That doesn’t make it LAW and certainly doesn’t make it absolute TRUTH.
Another thing, since they lack vocal cords, any idiot, like StyxHexenhammer, that thinks they only know one language and can’t communicate in anything but some obscure language is largely just showing you they have no experience in this area or they are willful idiots. Likely both, but skepticism is evident from the beginning of the article and should be remembered.
Anyone, especially with AI, can produce a convincing text with little effort but one needs to read and research to make sure they are experienced in an area. I can AI a book on plumbing, but it will be generic, include general advice, publicly available “tips”, run you around generic mental circles to sound profound, and that’s it. Not dissimilar to the plethora of Left Hand Path and General Occult books available on Amazon today. Mari_a S_ilva, anyone? Most Amazon Prime publishers without physical books available is another clue. Why? Because Amazon puts the cost onto the author once the order has been place to protect the buyer. This is why so many ebooks don’t have physical equivalents. The authors won’t stand by their works for whatever reason..
So, where does that leave the practitioner? Well, let me tell you where it leaves me – years later. “Grain of salt” and “time will tell”. Verification takes time and this will always dissuade the quick win prospects. Good.
Have I had conversations come true? Yes. Pele was resolute I would come back and I wasn’t interested. I couldn’t land a role to stay here due to policy issues and a lack of waivers the last time I was here. Fast forward and I need “Manager/Supervisor” status to get to Europe. And this was what I was hired in for here, even though I had a “comfortable” position back in Maryland. In fact, the organization I work for didn’t exist back then. Not only are we back, but now we’re in a more comfortable neighborhood – after some drama with a landlord that wouldn’t fix things (water leaks, fridge, AC in the hot part of the island)… We are here. My work continues on island with gates and access points to tap into those areas…among other things….
And I’m hoping for a “working retirement” on the Big Island in the end. But still wanting to go to Europe!
Lots to unpack that wasn’t said. I questioned Pele the last time I was here and said that if she wanted me back, she would make it so. I kinda meant it before I left, but, as a realist, knew that isn’t how things worked. I moved back, had a plethora of opportunities that met me as I learned new skills, and those skills are why I am literally back NOW. I can’t sugar-coat it. The skills, the experiences, and the unusual freedom to make it happen led to me being back today.
Sure, it’s a conversation with a spirit. Several, tbh. But there were several years between the “You WILL be back (to me)” and it coming forth happened. Some policy changes since then will largely enable me to stay now, in ways that wasn’t possible before. While we’re at it, my reputation has spread, and reluctant land spirits are now giving me perspectives and opportunities – things not available before. Can I say that these aren’t related to my publishing of Pele’s Grimoire? No. But I had worked the same with some of them before and they weren’t as forthcoming. Could be because I’m working on PG2, but that’s a different topic.
Got a bit off topic/sidetracked, but whatever. I don’t make money off of this blog. And the tidbits were relevant.
